VISION – That we may know Him & make Him known. cash advance annual rate That our spirit may rejoice in God our Saviour & our soul may magnify the Lord.

Day 1 – Life with & without God

Gen 1:1   In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Christians believe God created heaven & earth from nothing. For the Christian God is eternal.   Atheists believe matter & energy arose from nothing. For the atheists matter is eternal. Both are belief systems. Atheists are no more scientific than theists on the issue of origins. Both believe a theory.

Gen 1:2   And the earth was without form and empty. And darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved on the face of the waters.

Without form –

Empty –

Dark –

Would be life without God.

Man without God being without form (parameters, standards) will have to supply his own yardstick for morals, sex, family, consumerism, euthanasia, abortion, genetic engineering, cloning, same sex marriage, divorce etc.

Being empty without God, one has to fill it with something. The vacuum within yearns for God. Without Him we shall try to fill it with power, greed, food, fame, fashion etc. Being without God His empty cannot be filled. He craves unceasingly. There is no contentment.

Being without God is to be blind as to the next step in life. When we know the Lord we perceive   where we came from and where we are headed. When we do not have God and His word as a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, men will seek after medium, tarot cards, light readers, horoscopes. They are trying to peer into the future and the hereafter because o fear and curiosity. They get demonized.

Holy Spirit in us gives us an experience of heavenly life . Heb 6:4-5 MKJV   For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,   (5)   and have tasted the good Word of God and the powers of the world to come,

When we receive the holy Spirit heaven will be a reality not a mere doctrine.

Psa 19:7   The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple.

Psa 19:8   The statutes of the LORD [are] right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD [is] pure, enlightening the eyes.

Conversion of the soul 1 hour advance loans includes the word of God throwing light into the eyes, giving wisdom for the mind and rejoicing the heart.

Gen 2:7   And the LORD God formed man [of] the dust of the ground (body), and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life (spirit); and man became a living soul. Man is   a tripartite being. When born of God’s spirit his spirit come alive. And influences all of soul life which anyway is a gift of God. (Soul = identity, emotions, conscience, will, ambition, intellect).

Day 2

Gen 1:26-27 MKJV   And God said, Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the heavens, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over all the creepers creeping on the earth.   (27)   And God created man in His image; in the image of God He created him. He created them male and female.

God translates the plural Hebrew word Elohim . The plural form ‘Let us make” some believe suggests the Trinity. It also may be the plural of majesty (as applied to kings). God’s image and God’s likeness sought in communing with and worship of God was God’s priority for man. Dominion in the work realm must come a far second. However man becomes God as he is consumed with work, recognition, performance, creativity, identity, significance, wealth, power – all of this comes from work. Man’s greatest sin is tat he lives and decides as if he is God.

Ps 42:-1-2 was briefly considered .

Psa 42:1-2 . As the hart pants after the water brooks, so my soul pants after You, O God.   (2)   My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God?

Thirst of the soul is the only qualification to come to God. The morally upright and the degraded at some point begin to have a God shaped thirst which only God can fill. All other thirst quenching contraptions and deceptions (viz. power, wealth, fame, knowledge, beauty, popularity, good works) become futile and inadequate. The God thirsty man wants to fill the thirst quickly – catch up for lost time.

How can we cease from work – we have to work ? But we can allow God be God and not worship our work. To every man there is a conversion point – the self that dies, slow & hard. Eve in Eden & Christ in the payday loan in inglewood ca wilderness were offered body lust, glamour and power.

John 3:3 showed us when we are born again and see the kingdom of God, we shall understand the tussle between work in this world & worship coming from the higher kingdom to which we belong once we are born of God. Joh 3:3   Jesus answered and said to him, Truly, truly, I say to you, Unless a man is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Mary’s Magnificat gives us deep insight.

Luk 1:46   And Mary said, My soul magnifies the Lord ,

Luk 1:47   and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.

We can first know God only as our Saviour or if we fail to do this, beyond death, we shall know Him as the judge of the living and the dead. Those who rejoice in their spirit having received the Saviour (until then consistent spiritual joy is impossible), know that all of their soul’s pleasure & endeavour must magnify the Lord. Before we are saved, our soul will magnify ourselves through our achievements and that of our children. Conversion to worship from work is a conversion from soul to spirit and from self to God.

God said it is not good for man to be alone. This is true about man’s need for different relationships – God, parental home, marriage, siblings, church, friends, work. When sin entered Gen 3:16   To the woman He said, I will greatly increase your sorrow and your conception. In pain you shall bear sons, and your desire shall be toward your husband, and he shall rule over you.

In every relationship a need + rule was established . However the needy will often attempt to manipulate the situation and usurp the rule. On the other hand the rule will become unbearable & harsh. Strangely, a mother (who should rule) may crave a daughter’s love (when the husband fails) and the daughter begins to rule over the mother, though she should be the dependant one in the relationship. This happens in marriage too – Jezebel ruled over Ahab’s weakness. Given our fallen nature, one assumes control. This is the way relationships operate without Christ. When Christ gave His life for us, He established a new order of relationships of the benefactor giving of Himself – the stronger gives the weaker as the Lord did.
