Day 2 -Atmosphere and the Water Cycle

Gen 1:6-8Then God said, “Let there be an expanse in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” 7 God made the expanse, and separated the waters which were below the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so. 8 God called the expanse heaven. And there was evening and there was morning, a second day.

Expanse is the earth atmosphere.Creating the atmosphere separated water as water in the Ocean and water as clouds above. God created the atmosphere with the life-giving oxygen 21% which only earth atmosphere has. Water is also found only on earth. This tells us earth was designed by God for life. These were not chance happenstance as assumed by the Theory of Evolution. Atmosphere also has 70% Nitrogen.Nitrogen and Oxygen react together when lightening interacts. Nitric Oxide that is formed dissolves in water to produce Nitrates which is essential for plant growth. Plants grow the proteins from the Nitrogen and Sulphur. Plants absorb Carbon Dioxide from their leaves and produce starch while ―breathing‖ out Oxygen. Chlorophyll is the green pigment, leaves have, to absorb electrons of light energy in order to produce starch (carbohydrate). God has kept water in an amazing balance of solid Ice, water and as vapour in the atmosphere – some of it condensed as clouds. How winds move clouds and how Oceans maintain temperature, implies God‘s scientific genius. This ice sheets on the polar caps reflect heat away, protecting the globe from global warming. When these God 6 designed systems were run down by man in his hasty consumption of resources over the last 60 years, earth is in trouble.

Heavenly father we stand in awe of the work of your mighty hands! We cannot grasp your infinite wisdom and we plead mercy asking your pardon for our selfish ways of exploiting and mishandling the perfected work of Creation. Grant us grace  and wisdom to tend and nature  the works of your hands. Amen
