Two recent studies give hope for ADD, ADHD children and for children 100 online payday loans no phone calls diagnosed as Autism Spectrum Disease. Chemical Basis of ADD, ADHD

Drug treatment for ADHD has a basic contradiction. Drugs given to arouse children in order to overcome attention deficit will stimulate and make hyperactivity worse. Drugs given to inhibit hyperactivity will make attention deficit worse.

Our Understanding of ADHD

ADHD is not a disease of the Brain. Brain only records and reacts to the spiritual, emotional & chemical challenges faced by the child. Chemicals while the child is in the uterus alter the child’s brain receptor development. The chemical may be prescribed drugs, alcohol or nay other drug taken by the mother. Equally, “noxious” maternal stimuli affect the Brain receptor development. What are noxious maternal stimuli? We have consistently found when a case history is taken, the mother reports an unpleasant event while child was in the womb, which traumatically affected her. She attributes the child’s ADHD to the traumatic event during the pregnancy. Nearly 90% claim such an event. I also found that violent digital input and overdose of digital input into the mother (viz. violent movies, hard metal music, constant digital overload in other ways), affects the way the fetus develops brain receptors. Some have called this field Perigenetics.

The causative factors of the traditional “Maternal Deprivation Syndrome” undoubtedly contributes to the brain neurochemistry that later predisposes to ADHD. What do I mean by brain neurochemistry? The way receptors develop under neurotransmitter influence and the way fetal neurons connect. Just the way it could happen post natal, a fetus may preferentially develop synapses in the prefrontal cortex in response to sudden provocation of stress, endorphin overload from mother etc. over wiring of pre frontal cortex produces motor jitteriness -.predilection to quick unplanned, reflex motor hyperactivism. This is because the planned motor function of the frontal cortex is overshadowed by the staccato kind of hyper stimulus received by the fetus through digital and other overstimulation from the mother. The same prefrontal preponderance over frontal cortex continues when the child is exposed postnatal to digital overload via  cartoons, digital games, music, child laptop, Ipad, Tablet etc.

Child first receives in the spirit – love & attention. Then emotional attention, which prepares the child to receive & give intellectual or mental attention. When the parent lives in the spirit imbibing God’s Spirit, the child has a definite advantage to grow & perceive. Grace of God waters the soul. Child increases in wisdom – intellectual activity. Such a child will never know attention deficit. ADD or ADHD will never come to that child. Both of these are problems of children who did not get loving attention in the womb & after birth. Child was deprived. Not receiving attention of close eye contact, verbal soothing etc. Child does not know to give attention. Very soon digital overstimulation could take over as the nanny, with a parental philosophy that their first career is livelihood and not parenting.

Let me tell you how I was forced to learn about behavioural difficulties of children. I was giving some learned lectures in top Colombo schools on Science, Christianity & Morals. This was a door to present the Gospel. Then I was discomfited by what teachers asked me. “Doctor what do we do with children with ADD?” Having been out of my profession for some years, I did not know ADD. I had to learn. I soon found that children are prescribed drugs frequently & easily with poor rationale, claiming to improve attention & behaviour. Child is sent into a chemical stupor. Drug companies increase their profit in this new field. I had to learn and I did that assiduously. Over the last year most of my intelligent learning time went into this field. We developed an Empathic Learning Methodology to help these children under prayer. I took up this field where children are at risk being targeted by the Market & parents negligent or ignorant. Since then I have tried to motivate others to take on this needy field as an act of compassion to children who have become the target of the market. Few have responded.

The Spectrum

  1. 1.      Right brain dominant children who have no other issue than that their parents & teachers do not understand their approach to life & learning. They are emotive & intuitive. Parents & teachers have to find a method & strategy to tide them over until 16-18 yrs, when they can get on to problem based vocational training. They can do very well in their field of aptitude. These children will not do well in science & math. So do not push them. They will do well in arts, drama, fashion, crafts, architecture, music, computers and even business. They are dreamy. If boys – not very “masculine”.
  2. 2.      Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD) – one factor responsible is inattention of parents, handing over to outsiders.
  3. 3.      Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorders (ADHD) – digital over stimulation and increased stimulation of prefrontal cortex in chaotic movements contribute to the behavior of ADHD
  4. 4.      Autism – four times more common in boys. This is a failure of communication skills – social and/or language. May or may not be associated with seizures. Aetiology unknown. Do not beat yourself as if you are the cause.
  5. 5.      Dyslexia – reading and/or Learning Disability – usually manifests as unable to read the board or copy notes. They get unnecessarily punished on the assumption of laziness or disobedience. Many of them achieve in later life – late bloomers. Some become brilliant.
  6. 6.      Asperger kind of disorders & Pervasive Developmental Disorder
  7. 7.      Neuopathological & Genetic – Down’s Syndrome, birth trauma or anoxia, cerebral diplegia, Lesch–Nyhan syndrome

Right Brain Dominant Children

The first three of the list – namely normal R/brain dominant (RBD) child, ADD, ADHD need close interaction with parents. Of these RBD child is completely normal and it is the reaction of parents, teachers, siblings and sometimes school children that make them recluse. In the early years, that is until the RBD child can find school that accommodates him, he needs parents to walk out his predicament with him. What is his predicament? His method of learning and application are emotive rather than analytical.  His thinking is pictorial. He is visual than lexical. He is especially weak in math & science. Since his achievement may not come at school he will need parents to make opportunities for him regularly at home, in family picnics etc. He revels in helping and looking worthy and valuable where he can shine. If the RBD child is a girl parents may accept that easily. Music, art, fashion, drama, aesthetics can well be a girl’s future. Asian cultures will not think so for boys. Some RBD children may have feminine ways which can engender other kinds of problems. Looking less “masculine” they may easily move with girls and draw closer to mother rather than father. He may even like cooking.

During early days the RBD child will look to perform at home, since he is failing at school. Parents have to make time in their schedule at least 3 times  a week – one hour, where he proves his “greatness” and receives accolades. If this desire is not accommodated, by 14 years or earlier the child will withdraw to his own world of fantasizing greatness. “Tall” stories and flights of imagination will result. He will have great visions of a dreamy future where he is doing what others have not done. These may come true when he is 30 years. Until then parents have to provide the “pitch” on which “he can bat”.  Since they visualize big, they may need help to plan how soon the dream can be worked into reality. What the steps are. They are the kind who will say, “let’s try & leave the consequences to work out”.

It is easy to understand that these people will be speculative, take risks without calculating cost and are quick to experiment. There visionary nature can make them innovators & inventors. They are imaginative – so can be story tellers, drama script writers. It is possible that this kind is more vulnerable to ADD or ADHD.

Autism is a developmental disorder that appears in the first 3 years of life, and affects the brain’s normal development of social and communication skills. I believe Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorders (ADHD) are due to conflicts children face from failure of parental expectation – prenatally & postnatal. Parental Failure may be true or merely perceived. I consider the issue to be society threatening. It needs urgent divine help and spiritual approach with supernatural remedies. So our program will appeal only to those who are willing to seek God’s help for your child’s need, whatever your religious persuasion. Who should seek help? Please note that this is not a medical programme.

Brain & ADHD

Schweitzer also found more activity in motor portions of the brain, which accounts for the fidgeting typical in those with ADHD. This could result from hyperactive digital play stations. These preferentially stimulate visual sections of the brain.  While people without ADHD use verbal sections, those with the disorder do not. Their brain activity is concentrated on visual areas.

The frontal lobes help us to pay attention to tasks, focus concentration, make good decisions, plan ahead, learn and remember what we have learned, and behave appropriately for the situation.

The inhibitory mechanisms of the cortex keep us from being hyperactive, from saying things out of turn, They help us to “inhibit” our behaviors. It has been said that 70% of the brain is there to inhibit the other 30%.

Children In Fright, Flight & Fight

10. Brand loyalty – too much is asked from the child. Child has nothing to give of loyalty to anyone else even after he becomes youth

Autism

Autism affects boys 3 – 4 times more often than girls. This is because boys are more sensitive and find harder to recover when parents fracture, fail or divorce. Girls have greater resilience & higher pain threshold – probably in training for child birth. That’s how the Designer made them.  So we have Disgner Daughters & Masculine Marvels created separate but complementary in God’s likeness. Autism is commoner in better educated and affluent families rather than poorer families. Abnormal brain synapses and chemistry of autism are directly related to digital over exposure of children and exposure to unpleasant family conflict. Medical science tries hard to make autism a biological disease rather than a sociological or spiritual one. 

Most parents of autistic children suspect that something is wrong by the time the child is 18 months old and seek help by the time the child is age 2. Children with autism typically have difficulties in:

  • Pretend play
  • Social interactions
  • Verbal and nonverbal communication

Some children with autism appear normal before age 1 or 2 and then suddenly “regress” and lose language or social skills they had previously gained. This is called the regressive type of autism. I suggest this si when the child is exposed to social/spiritual trauma. There is no medicine that treats the underlying problem of autism. Not all experts agree that dietary changes will make a difference, and not all studies of this method have shown positive results.

Correcting Children

A little boy liked to drink his milk very much but fussed eating lunch. Mother with great patience would say, “milk only when you eat”. This worked many times. Sometimes mother would say, “No milk if you don’t eat”. One day the little fellow in an aggrieved state, after many tantrums said , “I don’t want milk; thatthi (dad) makes the milk too watery”. Sadly he decided to go to sleep hungry with no food, no milk. In the process he did the “sour grape thing” of saying, “anyway the milk is watery”. What he liked he disclaimed – to do tit for tat. Happily the situation was reprieved when grandma, intervened, brought penitence & shalom. 30 min later he came back to eat and was rewarded with milk. How well does the world’s theory of “withhold until compliance given” work? What’s the cost of it? Why not try repentance while children are small?  Confess the wrong & return to right.

On another day, a junior decided to howl & protest at dinner time. Altercation was too loud, decided grandpa. “This is my house. Nobody raises the voice in my house”. He thundered. Junior had never heard such a thunderous remark from his best friend grandpa. He quietened immediately. Next night he suddenly said, “no no no”. Again grandpa said, not too loud, what did you say? Junior looked troubled and said, “I told no to the fan” – a fabrication. Few days later too, junior would quickly give an excuse when he disputed with a loud voice. He felt he needed to offer alternate excuses to cover up unreasonable shouts. Certainly junior’s tantrum reduced. Grandpa was sad, he had said, “do not raise voice in my house”. Did it bring an insecurity to junior? Grandpa remembered that many times while walking on the road in front of the house, junior would ask who built the house.  Children when reprimanded rightly, must not face contradiction.

We are born shrieking demanding our rights. It is possible to nurture the child in the womb in shalom prayer & blessing. The spirit of the child in the mother’s womb can “hear” – even medical science agrees. Child “hears” (by the spirit) acceptance or rejection, joy or sorrow. As soon as possible we need to settle “dues” & “bad debt”.  Until then we shall indict & prosecute our parents, our siblings, our spouse, children, friends, boss, colleagues,

Fracture of Expectation

Is there a day when your expectation of good fractured? Every child’s birth is meant to be good news for the mother. If the father deserts? If the mother is out of wedlock? If the mother was too young? If the conception followed rape? If the mother is a prostitute? If abortion is attempted? We now know that the child will remember the insult. Ps 51:6. Later in life, you may remember when the fracture almost derailed you. How shameful it was? Yet His kindness restored my soul. He found me bleeding & dying on the Jericho road. If the wrong was mine or I was wronged, the shame is the same.

For the parents, every child’s birth is meant to be as joyful as the Saviour’s birth. Luk 2:10-11  But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;  (11)  for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.

The child arrives with a joyful yell, “Here I come”. Eagerly anticipated, well prepared. Yet for some children, they hear in their mother’s womb that they are unwelcome. Some say such children have delayed labour.
